Dictionary Marker Map

Mark item locations on dictionary images to quickly locate and view items.

What Is a "Dictionary"

In NeatHub, a dictionary refers to the cascading categories in Attribute Management — for example, "Location" (Wardrobe / Second Shelf / Left Side) or "Category" (Electronics / Headphones / Wireless Headphones), which are multi-level options. You can assign an image to each dictionary entry (such as a photo of a wardrobe), then place marker points on the image to indicate "what items are stored at this location".

When to Use It

You want to visually see "what exactly is in a particular cabinet" rather than just reading a list
Your storage spaces have layout photos (wardrobe interior, toolbox photo) and you want to mark item positions directly on the image
Managing collectibles in display cabinets or shelving — visualize where each piece is placed
Help family members quickly find things — images are more intuitive than text

Feature Overview

The dictionary marker map lets you mark items on cascading category images:

Dictionaries (cascading categories) can have images assigned
Long press on the image to add a marker point
Marker points are linked to items under that category
Tap a marker point to jump directly to the item detail page

Accessing the Marker Map

In Dictionary Management or the home page cascading category list, tap a category
Enter the item list for that category
Tap the "Image" icon in the top right corner
Open the dictionary marker map interface

Setting a Dictionary Image

The marker map requires the dictionary to have an image:

In Dictionary Management, edit a dictionary entry
Add an image to the dictionary entry (e.g., take a photo of the inside of a wardrobe)
After saving, the marker map feature becomes available

Tip

We recommend using real photos of your storage spaces (e.g., an open wardrobe, a bookshelf) for the most intuitive marker experience. Stock images or diagrams also work, but real photos are more effective.

Adding Markers

In the marker map interface, long press on an empty area of the image
An item selection list appears
Select an item under that category
A marker point appears on the image (red circle)

Viewing Markers

Tap a marker point to jump to the linked item's detail page
Marker points are displayed as red circles, positioned to correspond with the item's actual storage location

Deleting Markers

Long press on a marker point
The marker point is deleted

Use Cases

Scenario 1: Wardrobe Layout Marking

Assign a photo of the inside of your wardrobe to the "Wardrobe" location dictionary entry. Place marker points on the second shelf for "Black Dress Pants" and "White Shirt" — then tapping a marker takes you straight to the item details. Family members can find clothes without scrolling through lists.

Scenario 2: Toolbox Marking

Take a photo of your open toolbox and use it as the dictionary image. Mark each compartment with the corresponding tool (screwdriver, wrench, pliers) — next time you need a tool, just look at the image.

Scenario 3: Display Cabinet

You have collectibles in a display cabinet — take a photo of the cabinet. Place markers at each item's position to visually showcase the layout, and easily show friends "which piece is which".

Scenario 4: Medicine Cabinet Management

Your home medicine cabinet has several shelves — take a photo and assign it to the "Medicine Cabinet" dictionary entry. Mark each shelf with the corresponding medications — finding medicine by looking at the image is faster than scrolling through a list.

Things to Note

A dictionary entry must have an image before the marker map can be used
Markers can only be linked to items under that dictionary category (e.g., markers for "Wardrobe / Second Shelf" can only link to items assigned to that location)
Deleting the dictionary image will also remove all its marker points
