Command Edit
Tell the AI what you want with a text description, and it will edit the image accordingly.
Feature Overview
Command Edit is a text-driven image editing feature. You don't need any photo editing skills β just describe the effect you want in words, and the AI will produce the result.
For example, you can say "change the background to a blue sky with white clouds", "remove the text in the image", or "make the item look brighter", and the AI will understand and generate an edited image.
Think of it as a "photo editor that understands plain language" β you tell it in words what you want, and it edits the image for you.
Command Edit vs Background Removal
Both features process images, but they serve different purposes and work differently:
| Command Edit | Background Removal | |
|---|---|---|
| What it does | Edits any part of the image based on your text | Automatically removes the background, keeping the subject |
| Input required | Requires a text description of the effect | No input needed β fully automatic |
| What can be changed | Background, color, style, adding/removing elements, etc. | Only background removal |
| Best for | Specific or detailed adjustments | Quickly getting a clean item photo |
| Speed | Slower (AI needs to generate) | Faster |
If you just want to remove a messy background and get a clean item photo, "Background Removal" is faster and more convenient. If you want richer effects (such as a specific background, style adjustment, or watermark removal), use "Command Edit".
How to Use
Command Edit has two entry points:
Entry 1: While taking or selecting a photo
Use Command Edit right after shooting or picking an image when adding or editing an item.
- Open the "Add Item" or "Edit Item" page
- Tap add image, then turn on the "AI Edit" switch at the top of the options panel
- Choose camera or album to pick the source image
- The Command Edit dialog opens automatically after the image is selected
- Type your editing instruction and tap "Generate"
- Tap "Done" once you're satisfied β the image will be replaced automatically
"AI Edit" and "Background Removal" are mutually exclusive β only one can be enabled at a time. Turning one on will automatically turn the other off.
Entry 2: From the image preview
Edit an existing item image directly.
- Open the item detail page
- Tap the image to view it in full screen
- Tap the "Command Edit" button on the bottom toolbar
- Type your editing instruction and tap "Generate"
- Tap "Done" when satisfied β the original image will be replaced
Editing Interface
The Command Edit screen is split into two parts:
- Preview area (top): shows the current image; switches to the edited result after generation
- Input area (bottom): where you type your editing instruction
There are three buttons at the bottom:
- Generate: creates an edited image from your instruction
- Continue Edit: keep editing on top of the latest result (multi-step refinement)
- Done: confirm and use the edited image
Tips for Writing Good Instructions
Clear instructions help the AI understand what you want:
- Be clear: "change the background to white" works better than "change the background"
- Be specific: "remove the watermark in the bottom-right corner" is more precise than "remove unwanted things"
- One change at a time: for multiple edits, use "Continue Edit" to apply them step by step
Common Instruction Examples
- Change the background to pure white
- Replace the background with a blue sky and white clouds
- Remove the text/watermark from the image
- Make the item look brighter and sharper
- Generate an e-commerce style product photo
- Change the overall style to minimalist
Use Cases
E-commerce product photos
Turn a casual snapshot into a professional product photo with a clean background β useful when listing items on second-hand platforms.
Removing distractions
Remove unwanted text, watermarks, or clutter from photos.
Style adjustments
Improve item photos by adjusting lighting, tone, or overall style.
Background replacement
Place the item against a specific background β like a wooden table or a display shelf β instead of just removing the background.
Notes
- Results may not always match expectations β adjust the instruction and regenerate
- Use "Continue Edit" to iterate on the previous result
- Command Edit consumes balance; members get free uses every day
- Generation takes a few to a dozen seconds β please be patient
- English instructions usually work better; the system provides an English template by default
