Search and Filter

NeatHub offers multiple search and filter options to help you quickly find items.

Text Search

The most basic search method — enter keywords in the search bar at the top of the home page:

  • Tap the search bar and enter keywords
  • The system automatically searches for matching items
  • Tap a search result to view item details

Search Scope

Text search matches the following content:

  • Item name
  • Item notes/description
  • Attribute values (e.g., brand, model)

Image Search

Upload a photo to find similar items — great for finding the same or similar products.

  • Tap the camera icon next to the search bar
  • Take a photo or select one from your album
  • The system matches similar items
  • View the list of matching results

Use Cases

  • Spot a similar product and check if you already own it
  • Find similar styles among your collectibles
  • Search for items with a specific appearance

Semantic Search

Search for items using natural language descriptions — no exact keywords needed.

Filter

Tap the filter button to open the filter panel. The panel is organized into filter groups — each field has its own row, where you can tap the operator button in the middle to switch the matching mode (e.g., "Equals", "Between") and enter a value on the right.

Filter Groups

  • Status / Quantity: Item status (e.g., "In Stock", "Lent Out") and quantity (with a numeric range option)
  • Recognition attributes: Filter by AI-recognized categories/tags (e.g., recognized brand, scene)
  • Attribute groups: Your custom attributes laid out group by group, each available as a filter condition

Adding a Filter Condition

  • Tap the filter button on the home page to open the filter panel
  • On the field's row, pick a matching mode (operator)
  • Enter or select the value to match
  • Tap "Query" to apply the filter

Filter Operators

Each field offers a set of matching operators, for example:

  • Equals / Not Equals: Match a specific value (e.g., Status = "In Stock", Brand ≠ "Brand A")
  • Is Empty / Is Not Empty: Whether the attribute has a value (e.g., find items with no price filled in)
  • Contains / Not Contains: Fuzzy text matching (e.g., name contains "coffee" matches "coffee beans" and "coffee powder")
  • Greater Than / Less Than: Numeric or date comparison (e.g., quantity greater than 5, price less than 100)
  • Between: Numeric or date range (e.g., price between 50 and 100)
  • Before / After: Date comparison (e.g., expiry date before next month)

Different field types offer different operators: text fields support "Contains", numeric fields support "Greater Than / Less Than / Between", date fields support "Before / After", and dictionary/hierarchy attributes generally use "Equals / Not Equals".

Combined Filters

You can set multiple filter conditions and switch how they combine (the intersection/union toggle at the bottom of the panel):

  • Intersection (AND): Items must meet all conditions (default)
  • Union (OR): Items meet any one condition

For example: Location = "Master Bedroom" + Status = "In Stock" + Color = "Red" (attributes such as location and category can all be used as filter conditions)

Membership Feature

Advanced operators — "Not Equals", "Is Empty / Is Not Empty", "Contains / Not Contains", "Greater Than / Less Than", "Between", "Before / After" — require a membership. Free users can use the "Equals" operator.

Sort

Tap the sort button to choose a sort method:

Sortable Fields

  • Name: Sort alphabetically by item name
  • Created Time: Sort by the order items were added
  • Updated Time: Sort by last modified time
  • Price: Sort by price
  • Custom attributes: Enable sorting by any attribute in sort settings

Sort Direction

  • Ascending: From smallest to largest
  • Descending: From largest to smallest

Tap the selected sort method again to toggle ascending/descending. Sort settings let you drag to reorder and toggle visibility; custom sort fields are a membership feature.

Filter Persistence

Your filter conditions and sort settings are saved automatically and kept when you reopen the app, so you can reuse them easily. After clearing the filter, no filter will be applied the next time you open the app.

Clear Filters

Tap the filter button and select "Clear" to restore the full item list; the list shows a hint when the filter returns no results.
