Inventory Canvas

The Inventory Canvas lays out the positions of items inside one Inventory: arrange item images into a picture, and it is saved and shared with that Inventory.

Overview

A canvas is an image board inside an Inventory:

  • Pick images from the items linked to this Inventory and place them on the canvas
  • Drag to adjust positions and how images stack on each other
  • Save, and the canvas becomes a picture that lives in the Inventory
In Simple Terms

A canvas is a "virtual display board." Drop clothing images onto it and mark which shelf of the wardrobe they sit on, so reading the Inventory later tells you where things are. It records the arrangement inside that Inventory and never rewrites an item's location attribute; for real positions across space → room → storage point, use Spaces instead.

Accessing the Inventory Canvas

  • Open an Inventory detail page
  • Tap "Edit Layout", or tap "+" at the top right of the "Canvas" section to start a new one
  • Or tap an existing canvas thumbnail to edit it

Adding Items to the Canvas

  • Enter the canvas editing view
  • Pick items from the item strip below the canvas
  • Only items that have images can be placed
  • The item image appears on the canvas
  • Drag it to the desired position

Canvas Operations

Drag and Place

  • Long-press an item image to drag it
  • Place it anywhere on the canvas
  • Adjust the relative positions between items

Layering

  • Items have a front/back layer order
  • It mirrors how things actually stack in real storage
  • For example, place some items on top of others

Zoom and Pan

  • Pinch to zoom the canvas in or out
  • Drag the canvas to pan the view
  • Handy for reading a crowded canvas

Removing Items from the Canvas

Tap an item on the canvas to select it:

  • A blue selection border appears around the item
  • A red delete button appears in the top-right corner
  • Tap the delete button to remove the item

Saving the Canvas

  • After arranging item positions
  • Tap the save button
  • The canvas is exported as an image, along with each item's position and layer
  • The layout is preserved the next time you open it

Reordering and Deleting Canvases

One Inventory can hold several canvases, so you can reorder or clean them up:

  • Once there is more than one canvas, a sort icon appears at the top right of the "Canvas" section
  • Tap it, drag to reorder the canvases, and save the new order
  • To delete a canvas, choose "Multi Select" from the menu in the top-right corner of the detail page, tick the canvases, then tap the delete icon

Wardrobe Management

  • Create a "My Wardrobe" Inventory
  • Link the clothes in your wardrobe
  • Show the shelf-by-shelf order of clothing on the canvas
  • Get a clear visual of your wardrobe layout

Display Cabinet

  • Create a display cabinet Inventory
  • Link your collectible items
  • Mark where collectibles are placed on the canvas
  • Record the display arrangement

Toolbox Management

  • Create a toolbox Inventory
  • Link your tools
  • Mark tool positions on the canvas
  • Quickly find the tool you need

Shelf Stock-take

  • Create an Inventory for one counting round
  • Link the goods to be counted
  • Spread them across the canvas by shelf position
  • Spot missing or duplicated stock

Membership Limits

Non-members can add up to 5 canvases. Members have no limit.

Tip

The Inventory Canvas suits records where item placement matters; everyday item management does not necessarily require the canvas feature.
