Community AI Smart Categorization
Let AI recognize item images you shared to the Zola Item Library and automatically assign them to the appropriate community categories.
Items in the Zola Item Library are organized by categories (e.g. "Food/Snacks/Chocolate", "Electronics/Headphones/Wireless Headphones"). When you share an item to the library, you need to pick a category so others can browse by category. If you don't want to choose manually, you can let AI identify the item from its image and categorize it automatically.
Community Categories vs. Item Attributes
Item Attributes (your personal categories): Configured in Attribute Management, used only to organize items in your own account — invisible to others.
Community Categories (Zola Item Library categories): A shared category tree used across the entire library, only relevant when you share items to the library.
When You'll Use This
- You edit an item with "Share to Zola Library" enabled, but don't want to pick a category manually
- Previously shared items don't have community categories set yet, and you want to add them in bulk
- You're unsure which category an item belongs to and want AI to suggest one
Single Item Smart Categorization
- Open the details of an item already shared to the Zola Library
- In the community category area, tap the "AI Smart Categorize" button (star icon)
- AI identifies a suitable category based on the item image
- Confirm the result or adjust manually, then save
Batch Smart Categorization
If you have many shared items without categories, you can process them in bulk:
- Go to "My Page" in the Zola Item Library
- Tap "Batch Operations" in the top-right corner
- Select "AI Smart Categorize"
- Wait for AI to recognize and categorize each item (speed depends on the number of items)
Batch categorization skips items that already have a category by default, to avoid overwriting your manual settings. If you want to re-run on all items, turn off "Skip Already Categorized" in the batch operations menu.
How Accurate Is It?
- AI identifies items by image appearance — accuracy is higher for clearly defined product types (electronics, food, clothing)
- Blurry images, mixed items, or artistic/handmade items may lead to inaccurate results
- If AI assigns the wrong category, tap the edit icon next to the category to adjust manually
- Manually adjusted categories will not be overwritten by subsequent batch categorization
FAQ
Possible reasons: no image uploaded, the item in the image is unclear, or the item is too niche and has no matching category. In these cases, simply select a category manually.
No. AI categorization only affects how the item is displayed in the Zola Item Library. It does not change your personal category settings under Attribute Management.
AI Smart Categorization uses a multimodal AI model for image recognition and is an AI feature. Members get unlimited use; free users have a daily limit.
