Item Statistics
The Item Statistics page provides an overall overview of your item data and lets you analyze distribution by attribute dimensions.
The statistics page is like a "data dashboard" that lets you see at a glance how many things you own, how much you've spent in total, and how much you consume on average per day. You can also select different attributes to view the value or quantity distribution within a specific category.
Accessing the Statistics Page
- Find the statistics icon (chart shape) in the top right corner of the home page
- Tap to enter the statistics page
Statistics Overview
Upon entering the statistics page, four key data cards are displayed at the top:
Item Count
- Shows the total number of item entries you've added
- For example, you've recorded 100 item entries
Inventory Quantity
- Shows the sum of the quantity attribute across all items
- For example, if you have 3 coffee entries with quantities of 5, 3, and 2, the total inventory is 10
Total Value
- Shows the sum of the price attribute across all items
- Only items with a price attribute are included
- For example, the total amount spent on all items
Daily Consumption
- Shows the average amount consumed per day
- Calculated based on item expiry reminders and other data
Analysis by Attribute Dimension
Select an attribute to view the value or quantity distribution across its options.
Selecting a Dimension
- Tap the "Select Attribute" button
- Choose an attribute or dictionary from the popup panel
- For example, select "Category," "Status," "Brand," etc.
- The system calculates the distribution across the attribute's options
Example: Statistics by Category
Suppose you select the "Category" attribute with the following categories:
- Daily Essentials: Value $500, Quantity 20
- Electronics: Value $2,000, Quantity 5
- Books: Value $300, Quantity 30
The system displays a pie chart showing the distribution of these categories.
Switching Statistics Type
After selecting an attribute, you can switch between two statistics modes:
By Price
- The pie chart shows the total value proportion of each option
- See which category you've spent the most on
By Quantity
- The pie chart shows the item count and inventory quantity of each option
- See which category has the most items
Chart Interactions
The pie chart supports the following interactions:
Tap a Sector
- Tapping a pie chart sector highlights it
- Makes it easy to see the specific data for that category
View Details
- Tapping a sector shows a detail tooltip
- The tooltip displays the specific price or quantity for that category
Legend
- A legend at the bottom lists each category name
- Helps you understand what each sector represents
Use Cases
Scenario 1: Understanding Total Spending
Want to know how much you've spent on items in total:
- Open the statistics page and check the "Total Value" card
- See your cumulative spending at a glance
Scenario 2: Analyzing Spending Distribution
Want to know which category you spend the most on:
- Select the "Category" attribute for statistics
- Switch to the "Price" view
- The pie chart shows spending proportions by category
- Discover that electronics cost the most and consider budgeting
Scenario 3: Understanding Inventory
Want to know which items you have the most of:
- Select the "Category" attribute for statistics
- Switch to the "Quantity" view
- The pie chart shows inventory distribution by category
- Discover that daily essentials have the highest inventory — might need organizing
Scenario 4: Analysis by Brand
Want to know the breakdown for a specific brand:
- Select the "Brand" attribute for statistics
- View the value or quantity distribution by brand
- Discover that one brand dominates and consider diversifying
FAQ
Possible reasons:
- Your items don't have a price attribute filled in
- The price attribute needs to be configured in Attribute Management
- Fill in the price when adding items for the statistics to update
Possible reasons:
- There are no items under that attribute
- Items don't have that attribute value filled in
- The selected attribute doesn't exist on the items
Daily Consumption is calculated based on item expiry reminders and other data. It represents the average amount consumed per day, helping you understand how quickly items are being used.
