QR Codes & Labels

Generate a QR code for an item, list, or view, stick it on a storage box, shelf, or fixed location, and scan it to open the corresponding content right away.

QR code or NFC: which to choose

A QR code costs almost nothing: screenshot it, print it, stick it on, and any phone camera can scan it;NFC tags open with a tap and last longer, but have to be bought separately and require a phone that supports NFC. When labeling a large number of storage boxes, start with QR codes and use NFC for valuables or high-traffic spots.

Generating a QR code

  • Open the content you want to label, such as an item details page or a list details page
  • Tap “Share” to open the share panel
  • Choose “Public” or “Private” as needed
  • Choose “QR code” to view and save the QR code image
  • The QR code, the link, NFC, and the barcode all use the same share identifier, so content updates need no reprinting

Printing labels

  • Send the saved QR code image to a computer, or print it directly from your phone
  • Everyday use: print onto adhesive sticker sheets (search e-commerce platforms for “QR code sticker printing”), or cover the label with clear tape first for moisture protection
  • Bulk use: a thermal label printer (for example 50 × 40 mm labels) is far more efficient
  • Stick it somewhere visible and hard to wear off, such as the side of a storage box
What to write on the label

When printing, add the item or box name next to the QR code (for example “Winter clothes · box 3”), so you can tell things apart without taking out your phone and scan only when you need the full list.

Scanning a QR code

  • Tap the scan entry on the home page, or just use the system camera
  • Point it at a QR code generated by NeatHub
  • The shared item, list, or view it points to opens

Use cases

Moving & packing

Generate a QR code for each box before sealing it and stick it on the outside; at the new place, a quick scan tells you what's inside and which room it goes to.

Seasonal storage

Put seasonal clothing and bedding into storage boxes and add a QR code label, so you don't have to rummage through every box next season.

On-site organizing handover

After finishing an organizing job, the organizer labels the client's spaces and storage boxes in bulk, and what the client receives is a physical plus digital record where everything can be found.

Notes

  • Whether the content behind a QR code can be opened depends on the Public/Private setting in the share panel and on account permissions
  • Paper labels fear moisture and sunlight; in damp places (bathrooms, balconies) laminate them or use waterproof stickers
  • Once the content is deleted or its sharing is turned off, QR codes already put up will no longer open it
