Messages & Announcements

"Messages" is NeatHub's in-app notification center: service maintenance, new-feature notes and events all show up here as announcements. It is read-only — published by the official team, with nothing for you to configure.

In Simple Terms

It is like a notice board by the door of the app. The important ones come over and tell you themselves; the rest just stay there for you to read whenever you want — nothing gets missed, and nothing keeps interrupting you.

Where to Find It

Open the drawer menu in the top left corner; the first row of the Sharing group is Messages. While you have unread items, a small dot appears on its right.

Three Ways Announcements Reach You

Depending on how important it is, an announcement gets your attention in a different way:

  • Pop-up on entry: appears when you open the home page; read it and tap "Got it". Each one pops up only once — after that it never disturbs you again and simply stays in the message list
  • Home banner: shown at the top of the home page with a close button on the right. Closing it counts as reading it
  • List only: no interruption at all, it just waits in the message list — used for ordinary feature notes

The Message List

  • Each entry shows its title, a type label, a summary (up to two lines) and the date
  • Unread entries have a dot in front and a bold title; read entries are greyed out across the whole row
  • Tap an entry to open it; if the content contains a link, a "View Link" button appears at the bottom
  • "Mark All Read" in the top right only appears while you have unread items — one tap clears every dot
  • When there is nothing at all, the list shows "No Messages"

Announcement Types

  • System: notes about your account and your data
  • Maintenance: planned upgrades and short periods of unavailability
  • New feature: what was added in a version update and how to use it
  • Activity: limited-time events and offers

Some announcements go only to certain people (for example members), or have a start time and stop being shown once it passes. That is normal behavior.

How It Differs from Push Notifications

Things to Note

  • Announcements are fetched over the network, so they can arrive late when you are offline
  • Read status follows your account and is kept when you log in on another device
  • Pop-up announcements appear once each; if you miss one it will not come back, but you can still find it in the message list
