Smart Autocomplete
When entering an item name, the system provides autocomplete suggestions based on your saved data to speed up entry.
What Is Smart Autocomplete?
Smart autocomplete is similar to the “predictive text” feature in an input method, but it uses your own data:
If you previously entered “coffee beans” and “coffee powder”, the next time you type “coffee”, the system will suggest those options automatically. Tap one to select it without typing the full name again.
- When you type the first few characters of an item name
- The system searches matching names from your saved items
- It automatically displays names you may want to enter
- Tap a suggestion to complete the input quickly
How to Use
- Start typing
On the add or edit item page, type the first few characters in the “Name” input field.
- View suggestions
After typing, autocomplete suggestions appear below the input field.
- Select a suggestion
Tap a suitable suggestion, and the name will be filled in automatically.
- Continue editing
You can modify or add other information, then save.
Suggestion Example
Suppose you previously saved these items:
- Coffee beans
- Coffee powder
- Instant coffee
When you type “coffee”, the system will suggest these three options.
Data Source
Autocomplete suggestions come from your own item library. The system suggests names based on items you have already saved. This means:
- Suggestions are item names that you have entered before
- New users may not see many suggestions at first because there is not much saved data yet
- The more items you save, the richer the suggestions become
- Suggestions vary by user because everyone sees their own data
Use Cases
Scenario 1: Quickly enter similar items
If you often add the same type of item:
- For example, your household often buys a specific bottled water brand
- You have saved that name before
- Next time, typing part of the name lets you select it directly
- You do not need to retype the full name every time
Scenario 2: Avoid inconsistent names
Keep item names consistent:
- For example, you previously entered “iPhone 15 Pro”
- Next time you add a similar item, autocomplete suggests the same naming format
- This avoids sometimes writing “Apple phone” and sometimes “iPhone”
- Consistent names make searching and statistics easier
Scenario 3: Reduce typing
This is especially useful for long or complex names:
- Some item names are long, such as “Sony WH-1000XM5 noise-cancelling headphones”
- If you saved it before, typing “Sony” or “WH” can find it
- Tap once to fill in the full name

Turning Off Smart Autocomplete
If you do not want to use smart autocomplete, turn it off in feature settings:
- Tap the top-left button on the home page to open the sidebar
- Open “Feature Settings”
- Find the “Smart Autocomplete” switch and turn it off
FAQ
Possible reasons:
- You are a new user and have not saved items yet, so there is no history for autocomplete
- Your input does not match any saved item names
- Smart autocomplete has been turned off
Suggestions are for reference only. You can:
- Ignore the suggestions and continue typing manually
- Select a suggestion and then edit the name
- Turn off smart autocomplete
